Dear parents and friends,
THANK YOU so much for your helpful comments and insights about your children that you gave me at Parent-Teacher conferences last week! I appreciate praying and working on your child´s training team with you, under the Master Teacher.
CHRISTIAN CHARACTER DAY is the first exciting event on Friday. Please help your child plan the character and costume to wear. Fill in the blanks on “Christian Character Day” page for clues, due on WEDNESDAY. On FRIDAY, you are welcome to join us to help kids change into their costumes at 10 am, and stay for the chapel, led by Flavio and Renee Uribe. You may pick your child up at his/her classroom at 12:10, to eat lunch together. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR CHILD FOR THE AFTERNOON. If you can´t come, please write me a note so I can plan for him/her.
INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL DAY begins at lunch on FRIDAY, the second exciting event! Second graders will sponsor a booth to earn money to buy a class pet. Parents and child can volunteer to be in charge to collect tickets and give out prizes. Write me in the student planner the TIME you would like to be in charge with your child, and if you can donate any CANDY--individually wrapped. I will set up the Festival booth and be in charge from 12:00 – 12:30 pm.
I need volunteers to be in charge for 30 minutes each from 12:30 -3:00
12:30 -1:00 1:00 – 1:30 1:30 – 2:00
2:00 – 2:30 2:30- 3:00 3:00 – 3: 15 cleanup
Thank you for helping your child learn responsibility this way, and contributing to our class pet fund!
BIBLE: Joshua obeyed God with his whole heart. We’ll look at what tempts us to disobey. Review Jeremiah 7: 23 AND practice
Colossians 3: 23
Whatever you do,
work at it with all your heart,
as working for the Lord,
not for people.
SOCIAL STUDIES and READING We will begin to read Squanto, Friend of the Pilgrims by Clyde R. Bulla. I plan to read one chapter each day between now and Thanksgiving break in November. We’ll study vocabulary, spelling patterns, read with partners aloud, and write sentences everyday in a Squanto notebook.
SPELLING: List E-2 includes words from Squanto:: fun, love, bad, wash, trade, robe, your, baby, wave, short, Squanto, Patuxet, wigwam, ship, wanted
Test will be on Friday.
MATH We are looking at patterns on the 100 chart, and identifying rules that describe patterns.
Thank you for helping with your prayers and presence, when you can.
For the sake of the kids,
Mrs. Glenda Moyer
